During the Journey, from the first day to the last, use your time to sketch, write your thoughts, photograph the landscape, daily life, Tuscan colors, markets, piazzas, collecting Italian memories. When the class begins they will be a source of great value for your imagery. In the Studio, the workshop focuses on hybrid Printmedia. Participants of all levels will learn silkscreen processes by making positive images of their drawings and photographs exposing them with a UV unit, mixing with letterpress type and other techniques to create a small and unique Accordion Book.
Exploring the potential of Asian paper that can be “dyed” by rolling, layering, modifying, diffusing the ink on the back of the pre-printed image creating a range of vibrant colors and effects, direct and expressive, participants will discover the endless possibilities of hybrid printmaking. Each participant is encouraged to challenge new technical methods discovering new personal imagery. Participants will have the opportunity to work on their own personal artistic research and develop ideas. The workshop will end in a final group discussion and celebration.
